The Space

Our home, in progress

A third place with heart

One roof over a gift shop, a members lounge, and a sanctuary. Here is what we are envisioning.

What We Are Building

We do not have the keys yet. This is the hall we are raising money to open: one roof over a gift shop, a members lounge, and a sanctuary, in Louisville, with the door unlocked to anyone curious enough to walk through it.

Open by default

Programs, ceremonies, the Sanctuary, and pastoral care stay free of any membership requirement.

Funded by all of us

Shop revenue, Hearth-Keeper shares, donations, and rental income all go back into keeping the doors open.

Room one

The Gift Shop

The first room you meet. Handmade goods and vetted partner products from across the Celtic world, chosen the way you would choose a gift for someone you know well.

Every dollar of revenue supports the nonprofit

Bandree Botanicals candles, body care, teas and tisanes
Room two

The Druid’s Hearth

The members lounge, entered through a round door. Somewhere to read, work, argue about the Ulster Cycle, or sit with a cup of tea and say nothing at all.

Wi-Fi, a TV, tables and couches

Room three

The Sanctuary

A room set aside for ceremony and meditation. Anyone who comes in open-hearted peace is welcome here, member or not, on ceremony days and on ordinary ones.

Home of An Chuairt, the round of seasonal ceremonies
Open to all, no membership and no affiliation required
Quiet hours between gatherings

What is waiting past the round door

T

Tea and coffee

A hospitality station kept stocked, in a hall run by a tea master.

R

Research library

Shelves you can pull from: myth, folklore, language, history.

T

Tables & couches

Built for lingering, not for turning over a table.

F

The forum

Hearth-Keepers also get the private online forum, open between visits.

Rentals

Borrow the hall for your own gathering

When the hall is not in programming, it is available to rent: workshops, rehearsals, memorials, handfastings, meetings, small concerts. Rental income goes straight back into the building.

Rates and availability follow once we have the keys. Tell us what you are planning and we will hold the conversation until then.
